Chinese Church
The term "Chinese Church" generally refers to Christian congregations and communities in China, which can include various denominations such as Catholicism, Protestantism, and Orthodoxy. These churches often face unique challenges due to government regulations and restrictions on religious practices. Many congregations operate in both registered and unregistered forms, with the latter often referred to as "house churches."
In addition to mainland China, the term can also encompass Chinese Christian communities abroad, particularly in countries with significant Chinese populations. These communities often serve as cultural and spiritual hubs, providing support and fellowship for Chinese immigrants and their descendants while promoting the Christian faith.
