China Securities Regulatory Commission
The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) is the main regulatory body overseeing the securities and futures markets in China. Established in 1992, its primary role is to protect investors, maintain fair and efficient markets, and promote the development of the securities industry.
The CSRC is responsible for enforcing laws related to securities trading, supervising market participants, and ensuring transparency in financial reporting. It also plays a crucial role in the approval of new public offerings and the regulation of stock exchanges, such as the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
