Chilean Elections
Chilean elections are held to choose representatives for various levels of government, including the President, members of the National Congress, and regional councils. The President of Chile serves a four-year term and cannot serve consecutive terms. Elections are typically held every four years, with the most recent presidential election taking place in December 2021.
The electoral system in Chile includes a proportional representation system for the National Congress, which consists of the Chilean Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. Voter participation is mandatory, and citizens aged 18 and older are eligible to vote.
