Childebert II
Childebert II was a Merovingian king who ruled over parts of what is now France during the late 6th century. Born around 570, he was the son of Childebert I and Faileube, and he became king after his father's death in 575. His reign was marked by conflicts with his half-brother, Sigebert I, and the struggle for control over their father's kingdom.
Childebert II ruled primarily from Metz and later from Reims. His reign saw the continuation of the Merovingian dynasty's influence, but it was also characterized by internal strife and power struggles among the Frankish nobility. He died in 595, leaving behind a fragmented kingdom.
