Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad
The Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad (CNS&M) was an interurban railway that operated between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Established in 1916, it provided electric rail service, connecting suburban areas to the city centers. The railroad was known for its efficient and fast service, making it a popular choice for commuters.
CNS&M featured a unique fleet of streamlined trains and was recognized for its scenic routes along Lake Michigan. The railroad faced financial difficulties over the years and ultimately ceased operations in 1963. Today, remnants of its infrastructure can still be seen in the areas it once served.
