Chet Huntley
Chet Huntley was an American television newscaster, best known for his work with the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and later with NBC. Born on December 21, 1911, in Cardwell, Montana, he gained fame as a co-anchor of the Huntley–Brinkley Report, which became one of the most popular news programs in the 1960s. His calm demeanor and authoritative voice made him a trusted figure in American journalism.
Huntley began his career in radio before transitioning to television in the late 1940s. He was known for his insightful reporting and ability to cover significant events, including the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement. After retiring from broadcasting in 1970, he authored several books and remained a respected figure in media until his death on March 20, 1974.
