Cheshire Lines Committee
The Cheshire Lines Committee (CLC) was a railway company established in 1865 to build and operate railways in the northwest of England. It was formed by several local railway companies to create a more efficient network connecting cities like Manchester and Liverpool. The CLC played a significant role in developing the region's transport infrastructure.
The CLC operated various routes and services until it was absorbed into the British Railways system in 1948. Today, some of its former lines are still in use, contributing to the modern rail network. The legacy of the CLC can be seen in the continued importance of rail travel in the area.
