Cheoljong
Cheoljong was the 25th king of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 1849 to 1863. He was born in 1816 and became king after the death of his predecessor, King Heonjong. His reign is often noted for its political instability and the influence of powerful factions at court.
During his rule, Cheoljong faced challenges such as internal strife and external pressures from foreign powers. Despite these difficulties, he is remembered for his efforts to strengthen the monarchy and improve the lives of his subjects. His reign ended with his death in 1863, after which he was succeeded by King Gojong.
