Chazzan
A Chazzan is a Jewish cantor who leads the congregation in prayer and song during religious services. This role is significant in synagogues, especially during important events like the Sabbath and holidays. The Chazzan is trained in traditional melodies and prayers, enhancing the spiritual experience for worshippers.
In addition to singing, the Chazzan often plays a key role in teaching the community about Jewish traditions and rituals. They may also assist in reading from the Torah, the central reference of the religious Judaic tradition, and help guide the congregation through the service.
