Chaturmas
Chaturmas is a significant period in the Hindu calendar, lasting for four months, typically from July to October. It is observed during the rainy season, when many communities refrain from certain activities, including travel and farming, to respect the natural environment and promote spiritual growth.
During Chaturmas, many devotees engage in fasting, prayer, and meditation. It is also a time for spiritual reflection and community gatherings. Some sects, like the Vaishnavas, observe specific rituals and practices to deepen their devotion and connection to Lord Vishnu, who is particularly honored during this period.
