Charles III of Lorraine
Charles III of Lorraine was born on February 17, 1543, and became the Duke of Lorraine in 1545. He was a member of the House of Lorraine and played a significant role in the political landscape of 16th-century Europe. His reign was marked by conflicts with the Habsburgs and involvement in the French Wars of Religion.
In 1608, Charles III was also appointed as the Duke of Bar. He worked to strengthen his duchy and maintain its independence amid the power struggles of neighboring states. Charles III passed away on April 14, 1608, leaving a legacy of resilience and diplomacy.
