Charles I, Duke of Alençon
Charles I, Duke of Alençon (1489-1525), was a French nobleman and the youngest son of King Charles VIII of France and Anne of Brittany. He played a significant role in the early 16th century, particularly during the Italian Wars, where he sought to expand French influence in Italy.
In 1515, Charles was appointed as the governor of Picardy and later became involved in various military campaigns. He was known for his ambition and desire for power, which ultimately led to his involvement in the political intrigues of the French court.
