Charles Gordon-Lennox, 5th Duke of Richmond
Charles Gordon-Lennox, 5th Duke of Richmond, was a British nobleman born on March 12, 1791. He was the son of Charles Gordon-Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond and Caroline Amelia Susan Gordon-Lennox. The 5th Duke served as a Member of Parliament and held various positions in the British government, including Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex.
He inherited the title of Duke in 1819 and was known for his contributions to agriculture and local governance. The 5th Duke was also involved in the development of Goodwood Estate, which is famous for its horse racing and motorsport events, including the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
