Charles Gordon-Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond
Charles Gordon-Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond (1791-1860), was a British nobleman and politician. He was born into the Gordon-Lennox family and inherited the title of Duke of Richmond in 1819. The Duke was known for his involvement in local governance and served as a Member of Parliament for several constituencies, including Chichester.
In addition to his political career, the Duke was a prominent landowner and held significant estates, including Goodwood House in West Sussex. He was also an avid horse racing enthusiast and contributed to the development of the Goodwood Racecourse, which remains a popular venue for horse racing events today.
