Charles G. Dawes was an American banker, politician, and diplomat, born on August 27, 1865. He served as the 30th Vice President of the United States under President Calvin Coolidge from 1925 to 1929. Dawes was also known for his role in the economic recovery of post-World War I Germany, where he helped create the Dawes Plan to stabilize its economy. In addition to his political career, Dawes was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925 for his efforts in promoting peace and economic stability in Europe. He was also a successful businessman and served as the director of the U.S. Bureau of the Budget. Dawes passed away on April 23, 1951.
