U.S. Bureau of the Budget
The U.S. Bureau of the Budget was established in 1921 to help manage the federal government's finances. Its main role is to prepare the annual budget, which outlines how the government plans to spend money on various programs and services. This process involves analyzing requests from different government agencies and ensuring that spending aligns with national priorities.
In 1970, the Bureau was reorganized and became part of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The OMB continues to oversee the budget process, helping to coordinate the government's financial activities and improve efficiency in spending taxpayer dollars.
