Charles Blair Macdonald
Charles Blair Macdonald was an influential American golf course designer and a key figure in the early development of golf in the United States. Born in 1855, he is often regarded as the "father of American golf course architecture." Macdonald was instrumental in introducing the principles of strategic golf course design, drawing inspiration from famous courses in Scotland.
In addition to his design work, Macdonald was a skilled golfer and won several prestigious tournaments, including the U.S. Amateur Championship.
