Charles Blackwood, 1st Baron Dufferin and Clandeboye
Charles Blackwood, 1st Baron Dufferin and Clandeboye (1826-1902) was a prominent British statesman and diplomat. He served as Governor General of Canada from 1872 to 1878, where he played a key role in promoting national unity and development. Dufferin was known for his eloquent speeches and efforts to improve relations with Indigenous peoples.
