Chandrayaan-2 is India's second lunar exploration mission, launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on July 22, 2019. The mission aimed to explore the Moon's south pole region, which is believed to contain water ice and other valuable resources. It consisted of an orbiter, lander, and rover.
The orbiter successfully entered lunar orbit and continues to send valuable data back to Earth. However, the lander, named Vikram, lost communication during its descent and crash-landed on the Moon's surface. Despite this setback, the mission has provided significant insights into lunar geology and the Moon's atmosphere.
