Chaldean Community
The Chaldean Community primarily consists of ethnic Assyrians who speak Aramaic and have roots in the ancient region of Mesopotamia. Many Chaldeans are Christians, belonging to the Chaldean Catholic Church, which is part of the larger Eastern Catholic tradition. They have a rich cultural heritage that includes unique traditions, music, and cuisine.
In recent decades, significant numbers of Chaldeans have emigrated from their homeland, particularly due to conflict in Iraq. Today, large populations can be found in countries like the United States, especially in cities such as Detroit and San Diego. The community actively works to preserve its language and traditions while integrating into their new environments.
