Chaetodipus
Chaetodipus is a genus of small rodents commonly known as pocket mice. They are primarily found in arid regions of North America, particularly in the southwestern United States and parts of Mexico. These mice are characterized by their long tails, large ears, and fur-lined cheek pouches, which they use to store food.
Pocket mice are nocturnal and primarily feed on seeds and plant material. They have adapted to their desert habitats by being able to burrow and create nests underground, providing protection from predators and extreme temperatures. Their unique adaptations make them an important part of the desert ecosystem.
