Certhidae
The family Certhidae consists of small, tree-dwelling birds known as creepers. These birds are characterized by their slender bodies, long tails, and specialized feet that allow them to climb vertically along tree trunks in search of insects and larvae. They have a unique foraging behavior, often moving in a spiral pattern around trees.
Creepers are found in various habitats, including forests and woodlands across the Northern Hemisphere. The most well-known species is the Brown Creeper (Certhia americana), which has a cryptic plumage that helps it blend into the bark of trees, providing camouflage from predators.
