Caspian Pipeline Consortium
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) is a major oil transportation system that connects the Caspian Sea region to global markets. Established in 1992, it primarily transports oil from Kazakhstan through Russia to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. The consortium includes several stakeholders, including KazMunayGas, Transneft, and Chevron.
The CPC pipeline spans approximately 1,500 kilometers and has a significant capacity, allowing it to transport millions of barrels of oil annually. This infrastructure plays a crucial role in facilitating energy exports from the Caspian Sea basin, contributing to the region's economic development and energy security.
