Carthusian monks
Carthusian monks are members of the Carthusian Order, a Christian monastic community founded in 1084 by Saint Bruno in the French Alps. They live a life of solitude, prayer, and contemplation, often in remote monasteries called charterhouses. Each monk has a private cell where they spend most of their time in silence and reflection.
The Carthusians follow a strict daily routine that includes communal prayers, individual work, and meditation. They emphasize a simple lifestyle, focusing on spiritual growth and connection with God. Their commitment to solitude and silence distinguishes them from other monastic orders, making their way of life unique within Christianity.
