Saint Bruno
Saint Bruno was a German priest and the founder of the Carthusian Order, established in 1084. He is known for his commitment to a life of solitude and prayer, emphasizing the importance of contemplation and asceticism. His teachings focused on the pursuit of spiritual purity and the deepening of one's relationship with God.
Bruno was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1623. His feast day is celebrated on October 6. The Carthusians continue to follow his monastic principles, living in silence and dedicating their lives to prayer and meditation in their secluded monasteries.
