Carolina Anole
The Carolina Anole, also known as the green anole, is a small lizard native to the southeastern United States. It typically measures 5 to 8 inches in length and is known for its ability to change color from green to brown, depending on its environment and temperature. This lizard primarily inhabits forests, gardens, and urban areas, where it can often be seen basking in the sun.
Carolina Anoles are insectivorous, feeding on a diet of small insects like flies and crickets. They are also known for their distinctive throat flap, or dewlap, which males use to attract females and establish territory. These lizards are agile climbers, often found on trees and shrubs.
