Carl Sandburg
Carl Sandburg was an American poet, writer, and editor born on January 6, 1878, in Galesburg, Illinois. He is best known for his free verse poetry and his ability to capture the essence of American life. Sandburg's work often focused on themes of nature, urban life, and the struggles of the working class.
In addition to poetry, Sandburg wrote biographies, including a well-known biography of Abraham Lincoln.
