Caribbean tectonic plates
The Caribbean tectonic plates are a group of tectonic plates located in the Caribbean region. The main plate, known as the Caribbean Plate, is surrounded by several other plates, including the North American Plate, South American Plate, and the Cocos Plate. These plates interact at their boundaries, leading to geological activity such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
The movement of the Caribbean Plate is primarily driven by the forces of plate tectonics. As it shifts, it can create new landforms and affect the surrounding regions. This tectonic activity is responsible for the diverse landscapes and ecosystems found throughout the Caribbean Sea and its islands.
