Caprivi Strip
The Caprivi Strip is a narrow strip of land in northeastern Namibia, stretching about 450 kilometers (280 miles) from the Zambezi River to the south. It was created during the colonial era to provide Germany access to the Zambezi River and facilitate trade. The region is bordered by Botswana to the south, Zambia to the east, and Angola to the west.
This area is known for its diverse wildlife and natural beauty, including several national parks such as Bwabwata National Park and Mudumu National Park. The Caprivi Strip is also home to various ethnic groups, including the Lozi and Subiya, contributing to its rich cultural heritage.
