Cape Palliser Lighthouse
Cape Palliser Lighthouse is located on the southern coast of New Zealand's North Island, near the small fishing village of Ngawi. Built in 1897, it stands 62 feet tall and is one of the tallest lighthouses in the country. The lighthouse is painted white with a red top, making it easily visible against the rugged coastal landscape.
The lighthouse serves as a crucial navigation aid for ships traveling through the Cook Strait. Visitors can access the lighthouse by climbing a steep staircase of 250 steps, which offers stunning views of the surrounding coastline and the Palliser Bay.
