Cape Otway Lighthouse
Cape Otway Lighthouse is located on the southern coast of Australia, near the entrance to Port Phillip Bay. Built in 1848, it is one of the oldest lighthouses in the country and stands 49 meters tall. The lighthouse was crucial for guiding ships safely along the treacherous waters of the Bass Strait.
Visitors to Cape Otway can explore the surrounding Great Otway National Park, which features stunning coastal scenery and diverse wildlife. The lighthouse is a popular tourist attraction, offering panoramic views and a glimpse into maritime history. It is also a significant site for Aboriginal culture and heritage.
