Cape Henry Lighthouse
Cape Henry Lighthouse is located at the entrance of Chesapeake Bay in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was first constructed in 1792 and is one of the oldest lighthouses in the United States. The lighthouse stands 220 feet tall and features a distinctive black and white striped design, making it a recognizable landmark.
The original lighthouse was replaced in 1881 by a new structure, which is still in operation today. Visitors can climb the 191 steps to the top for a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The lighthouse is part of the Cape Henry Memorial Park, which honors the first landing of the English colonists in 1607.
