Capability Maturity Models
Capability Maturity Models (CMM) are frameworks used to assess and improve an organization's processes. They provide a structured approach to evaluate the maturity of these processes, helping organizations identify strengths and weaknesses. The model typically consists of five levels, ranging from initial (chaotic) to optimized (continuous improvement), guiding organizations toward better performance.
CMM is widely used in software development, particularly in the Software Engineering Institute's CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration). By following the model, organizations can enhance their process capabilities, leading to improved quality, efficiency, and project success rates.
