Canute the Holy
Canute the Holy, also known as Saint Canute, was a Danish king who ruled from 1020 to 1035. He is best known for his efforts to strengthen the Christian faith in Denmark and for promoting peace and stability in his kingdom. Canute was a member of the House of Knýtlinga and was the son of King Sweyn Forkbeard.
Canute was canonized as a saint after his death, largely due to his pious life and dedication to the church. His feast day is celebrated on July 19. He is also remembered for his role in the unification of Denmark and parts of England during his reign.
