Canons of Dort
The Canons of Dort are a set of doctrinal statements established by the Synod of Dort in 1618-1619. This synod was convened in the city of Dordrecht, Netherlands, to address theological disputes between Arminianism and Calvinism. The canons affirm the Reformed perspective on salvation, emphasizing God's sovereignty and grace.
The canons are divided into five main points, often summarized as TULIP: Total depravity, Unconditional election, Limited atonement, Irresistible grace, and Perseverance of the saints. These points outline the beliefs of Reformed Christianity regarding human nature, divine choice, and the assurance of salvation.
