Cannabis Compounds
Cannabis contains over 100 different compounds known as cannabinoids, with the most well-known being THC and CBD. THC is responsible for the psychoactive effects commonly associated with marijuana, while CBD is non-intoxicating and is often used for its potential therapeutic benefits, such as reducing anxiety and inflammation.
In addition to cannabinoids, cannabis also contains terpenes, which are aromatic compounds that contribute to the plant's scent and flavor. These terpenes may also have their own therapeutic effects and can influence how cannabinoids interact with the body, a phenomenon known as the "entourage effect."
