Canine Infectious Tracheobronchitis
Canine Infectious Tracheobronchitis, commonly known as kennel cough, is a highly contagious respiratory disease in dogs. It primarily affects the trachea and bronchi, leading to symptoms such as a persistent cough, sneezing, and nasal discharge. The condition is often caused by a combination of viruses and bacteria, including Bordetella bronchiseptica.
The disease spreads easily in places where dogs congregate, such as dog parks and boarding facilities. While it can affect dogs of any age, puppies and unvaccinated dogs are at higher risk. Most cases are mild and resolve on their own, but severe cases may require veterinary treatment.
