Canadian Senate
The Canadian Senate is the upper house of the Parliament of Canada, responsible for reviewing legislation proposed by the lower house, known as the House of Commons. Senators are appointed by the Governor General on the advice of the Prime Minister and serve until the age of 75.
The Senate plays a crucial role in representing regional interests and providing expertise on various issues. It can suggest amendments to bills and has the power to delay legislation, but it cannot ultimately block money bills. The Senate's work helps ensure that diverse perspectives are considered in the law-making process.
