Canadian Rangers
The Canadian Rangers are a sub-component of the Canadian Armed Forces that provide a military presence in remote and northern regions of Canada. They are primarily composed of part-time, volunteer members who are often Indigenous or local residents, familiar with the land and its challenges. Their main roles include surveillance, reconnaissance, and assisting in emergencies, such as natural disasters.
Established in 1947, the Canadian Rangers help maintain a connection between the military and northern communities. They also participate in community events and cultural activities, promoting safety and security while fostering relationships with local populations.
