Canadian Geese
Canadian Geese are large waterfowl native to North America, known for their distinctive black heads and necks, white cheek patches, and brown bodies. They typically inhabit lakes, rivers, and wetlands, often forming large flocks during migration. These birds are highly social and are recognized for their honking calls.
During the breeding season, Canadian Geese build nests on the ground near water sources. They are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses, grains, and aquatic plants. Their migratory patterns can cover thousands of miles, as they travel between their summer breeding grounds in Canada and wintering areas in the United States.
