Cambodia National Rescue Party
The Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) is a political party in Cambodia, founded in 2012 through a merger of the Sam Rainsy Party and the Human Rights Party. It aims to promote democracy, human rights, and social justice in the country. The party has been a significant opposition force against the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP).
In 2017, the CNRP was dissolved by the Cambodian government, which accused it of plotting to overthrow the CPP. This action led to widespread criticism from international observers and human rights organizations, who viewed it as an attack on political pluralism in Cambodia.
