California Legislature
The California Legislature is the legislative body of the state of California. It is a bicameral institution, meaning it has two chambers: the California State Assembly and the California State Senate. The Assembly has 80 members, while the Senate consists of 40 members. Both chambers are responsible for creating, amending, and voting on state laws.
Members of the Legislature are elected by the public and serve specific terms. The Legislature meets annually in Sacramento, the state capital, to discuss and pass legislation on various issues, including education, healthcare, and the environment.
