Caiman Lizard
The Caiman Lizard is a large, semi-aquatic reptile native to the tropical regions of South America, particularly in countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. It can grow up to 3.3 feet (1 meter) in length and is known for its striking green and orange coloration. This lizard primarily inhabits riverbanks and swamps, where it feeds on a diet of snails, mollusks, and other aquatic invertebrates.
Caiman lizards are unique among lizards due to their strong jaws and specialized teeth, which help them crush hard-shelled prey. They are excellent swimmers and can often be seen basking on rocks or logs near water. While they are not considered endangered, their habitat is threatened by deforestation and pollution.
