Cabo Da Roca
Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of mainland Portugal and continental Europe. Located in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, it features dramatic cliffs that rise about 140 meters above the Atlantic Ocean. The area is known for its stunning views and rugged coastline, making it a popular destination for tourists and nature lovers.
At Cabo da Roca, visitors can find a lighthouse built in 1772, which is still operational today. A stone monument marks the location, inscribed with a famous quote by the poet Luis de Camões, emphasizing its significance as the edge of the known world during the Age of Exploration.
