COVAX
COVAX is a global initiative aimed at ensuring equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines for all countries, regardless of their income levels. It is co-led by the World Health Organization (WHO), Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). The program seeks to provide vaccines to low- and middle-income countries, helping to protect populations and curb the spread of the virus worldwide.
The COVAX facility works by pooling resources from participating countries and organizations to purchase vaccines in bulk. This approach allows for better negotiation with vaccine manufacturers and ensures that even the most vulnerable populations receive timely access to vaccines, contributing to global health security.
