CDKs
CDKs, or Cyclin-Dependent Kinases, are a family of enzymes that play a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle. They are activated by binding to proteins called cyclins, which help control various phases of cell division. This regulation ensures that cells only proceed to the next stage of the cycle when they are ready, maintaining proper growth and function.
In addition to their role in the cell cycle, CDKs are also involved in other cellular processes, such as transcription and DNA repair. Dysregulation of CDKs can lead to various diseases, including cancer, making them important targets for therapeutic interventions.
