CBRS
CBRS, or Citizens Broadband Radio Service, is a wireless communication technology that allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum. It was developed to improve access to wireless services, especially in areas where traditional cellular networks may be limited. By using a dynamic spectrum management system, CBRS enables efficient use of available frequencies, promoting better connectivity for various applications.
The CBRS framework operates in three tiers: the Incumbent Access, which includes existing users like the U.S. Navy; the Priority Access, which grants licenses to certain users; and the General Authorized Access, which allows anyone to use the spectrum on a non-interfering basis. This structure helps balance the needs of different users while maximizing spectrum efficiency.
