CARIFTA
The Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA) is a regional trade agreement established in 1965 to promote economic integration and cooperation among Caribbean nations. It aims to reduce trade barriers and enhance the movement of goods and services within the region, fostering economic growth and development.
In 1973, CARIFTA evolved into the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which expanded its focus to include social and cultural cooperation, as well as economic collaboration. CARIFTA's legacy continues to influence regional policies and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for Caribbean citizens.
