César Chávez
César Chávez was an American labor leader and civil rights activist born on March 31, 1927. He co-founded the United Farm Workers (UFW) in 1962, advocating for better working conditions and fair wages for farmworkers, many of whom were of Mexican descent. Chávez used nonviolent tactics, including strikes and boycotts, to draw attention to the struggles of agricultural laborers.
Chávez's efforts led to significant improvements in labor rights and inspired future generations of activists. He is remembered for his commitment to social justice and his belief in the power of collective action. Chávez passed away on April 23, 1993, but his legacy continues to influence labor movements today.
