Bush v. Gore
"Bush v. Gore" was a landmark Supreme Court case in 2000 that decided the outcome of the presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. The case arose from a disputed vote count in Florida, where the margin was extremely narrow. The Supreme Court ultimately ruled that the lack of a uniform standard for recounting votes violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
The Court's decision effectively halted the recount process, allowing Bush to maintain his lead in Florida and secure the presidency. This case highlighted issues related to voting procedures and election integrity in the United States.
